Seoul (2)

Met with Mr. Park today.

Not much time today for sightseeing. Walked to a neighborhood with traditional houses, nearby the hotel (Jongno-gu). The houses with the tiled roofs belonged to the aristocrats in the Joseon dynasty.

For dinner, went to a restaurant (2nd floor on the photo below) with some attractive pictures of their meals outside (no English menus here). A few Koreans having dinner with their office invited me to their table. Unfortunately, I found out just too late how drunk they were. One of them tried to read my business card upside down... Some of them were not as drunk, and apologized for their colleagues' behavior. When my meal arrived (bibimbap), that gave me a good opportunity to move back to my own table. When leaving the restaurant, I found out that the Korean group had also paid for my dinner! (well, I assume so, nobody spoke English, but they refused me to pay, and pointed at the other table)

Seoul (1)

Arrived in Seoul today around noon. In the afternoon explored some of the city, and visited Namdaemun market and the Deoksugung palace (the last kings lived here, until the Japanese ended the Joseon dynasty in 1910).

Unremarkable (and quick) Chinese dinner in a nearby restaurant.
